Jin Luo Golden Snails "WAYNE GRETZTEA"

$8.00 - $20.00

This is where it all started. A tremendous little tea of gold buds and black leaves rolled into snail shapes that slowly unfurls as it steeps. Amazing malty notes with undercurrents of chocolate.

This is our AA-grade Jin Luo. While it is rolled like our Hong Luo "REGINALD VELJOHNSON" this grade features a one bud, two-three leaf pick and has a more dynamic and refined (adult-ish) flavor. It is situated right below the pure golden bud variety. The golden buds give it a lighter, more delicate flavor, while the black leaves roll in a more robust backbone that rounds out this tea. I think this grade is a perfect combination of both of those flavors.

How to brew?
there aren't really many bad ways to do it -- i've even boiled it like rice.

My favorite way to do it would be as follows: 3-4 grams (a big teaspoon, or just use your thumb, pointer, and middle finger as a claw -- that much) in a small cup of maybe 8oz. Boil water then let it sit for about 2 minutes to cool a tiny bit. Add the water and let steep 'grandpa style'.

In my experience, it is a bit tough to brew gong fun style since the leaves take a while to unfurl. But try it and let me know if you find the key!

What to pair it with?
Honestly, anything. I just had a cup with a chocolate chip cookie. Llast night I had a cup with a shortbread cookie -- that is really nice because of the subtle, buttery and half-sweet flavors of both. At dinner i had a cup with a piece of pizza. Really, you can have it any time.

Why is it called "WAYNE GRETZTEA"?
In my opinion it's the all-time greatest.
