Mi Lan Xiang 100g Cake “SWAYZE”

$25.00

Mi Lan Xiang (Honey Orchid Aroma) is a prominent member of the dancong oolong family. For those that haven't smelled the dry leaves or had a cup of this tea before, it is almost hard to believe.

This is a great choice for those exploring the world of dancong oolongs, along with its brother (sister?) DUCKS UNLIMITED. Mi Lan Xiang has a very strong and intoxicating perfume and brews up in a gorgeous soup. It has all of the honey florals that you would expect from a quality dancong at (often times) a fraction of the price.

It's worth noting that this tea is incredibly complex to process, beginning with the picking in April and the slow withering process, followed by shaking to start oxidation then a frying to end oxidation and rolling the leaves. Afterwards the leaves are roasted with charcoal three times over a period of several months. Each step is developed and undertaken to ephasize that honey orchid sweetness that wafts off of the leaves. (The roasting does not give the tea a smoky flavor!)

This cake, called SWAYZE, is 100g of daily drinking grade Mi Lan Xiang. Like many of the teas here, it was chosen not just as a very good example of the style, but also because it balances quality with cost, meaning that you can enjoy this tea, enjoy it often, and even experiment with different brewing methods and styles without having to worry about making mistakes along the way.
